#9 | Reforestation Ramble
August 25, 2013
Reforestation Camp — Suamico, WI
From The Race Director . . .
With 1600 acres of forest land at the Brown County Reforestation Camp….there is plenty of room for the marathon format of racing to continue to flourish in Suamico, WI at the Reforestation Ramble. WORS continues to offer a variety of different courses to keep the racing fresh, the Ramble is definitely a bit different than the rest with longer laps containing a nice mix of single track, double track…..and the energy zapping rolling hills that have become a must have feature of the Reforestation Ramble. The laps are fast, the single track flows, the double track is wide open…..the speed trap will be in full effect and pack racing may just be the ticket…..if you can hold on to the wheel in front of you? The sandy based soil holds up well no matter what the weather, so fast fun racing is a guarantee when you take the start line at the Reforestation Ramble. The late August date serves as a nice warm-up for the Chequamegon 40, which takes place just a few weeks after the Ramble. So come on out to the Reforestation Ramble for one last tune up for the 40 or to simply push yourself like never before!
Please note the different start times for the Reforestation Ramble, remind yourself and fellow racers that the Ramble does not follow the traditional start times due to the distances of each category. Citizen Youth take off at 9:30 a.m., Citizen at 10 a.m., all other classes roll off the line at 11:30 a.m.! Although Sunday is race day, be sure to stop out Saturday for pre-riding, the Vendor/Exhibitor Zone, and Learn to Race clinics. Pre-riding will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Like most state and county trails, a trails/rider fee is required and will be collected at registration, with two day deals available. Plenty of lodging is conveniently located on either of the major highways, 43 or 41. Rough camping will be available close by at a nominal fee.
Racers are being asked to bring a new book to donate to the Give a Kid a Book Campaign, a Green Bay area non-profit created with a goal of putting new books in the hands of kids in need at Christmas time. Books are needed for all ages, from birth thru teens. The Titletown Flyers are proud supporters of the Give a Kid a Book Campaign.
