A record field of 85 runners swarmed the trails at Nine Mile on Sunday in near perfect race conditions. Early forecasts for rain turned into clear and sunny skies by race day making for a great day for racing. 10K racers got things rolling at 9 am followed 5 minutes later by the 5K wave of runners. New trails were added to both courses the night before in order to compensate for some submerged track removed earlier in the week. This led to a more challenging beginning to both courses than the normal, fast double wide lanes used in previous events at Nine Mile.
