On behalf of Subaru, all of our other fine sponsors, and each of our outstanding race directors and local organizing committees, we are very proud to bring the seventeenth year of WORS to you. Our series continues to evolve from its humble beginning as a cooperative effort of several small mountain bike races looking to increase numbers by providing racers a comparison of their performance over multiple events. WORS focuses on being a dynamic organization with a goal of creating the ultimate environment for as many mountain bikers as possible to explore their potential through participation in safe, fun, friendly competition.
WORS 2008 opens May 4th with the ever popular Iola Bump and Jump, followed by the second running of Treadfest, which boasts additional trails and a new race director. WORS next travels to the legendary trails of Nine Mile Forest for the Big Ring Classic, also under a new director and organizing committee. The Subaru Cup WORS mega event moves to June. Hosted by Nordic Mountain, this stage race continues on the USA Cycling National Mountain Bike Calendar and provides all cross-country racers an opportunity to qualify for the 2008 USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Championships.
