WORS 2004 Awards Banquet

Great friends, great food, lots of winners, and a great time, sums up WORS annual Awards Banquet. Approximately 350 of the WORS faithful filled the Cliff House at Devil?s Head Resort on Saturday evening. The evening?s festivities began with a social hour allowing racers an opportunity to meet with friends and competitors to rehash their favorite experiences from the 2004 series and after partaking in a bountiful buffet of scrumptious delights, it was time to hand out the hardware. Following thank-yous to WORS sponsors, race directors, land owners, timing crew, webmaster, WORS posse, advertisers, and last but certainly not the least WORS racers, the 2004 WORS Heads (those racers who competed in all twelve WORS races in 2004) were announced. 88 racers were awarded the WORS Head designation and those in attendance were each presented with a commemorative knit hat. The award presentations began with WORS Trail Run Series awards. Then came the USA Cycling Citizen Series, WORS Team Competition, Saris Sport Series, NORBA State Champion, Clif Bar Comp, and finally the BelGioioso Elite Series awards as Brain Matter (PCW cycling) and Sara Kylander-Johnson (Trek Midwest/Ski Hut) were each presented with a Gary Fisher Sugar 293, a BelGioioso cheese box, a WORS All-In-One entry for 2005 and a personal framed photo collage from Extreme Photo while being named WORS Elite Overall Champions for 2004.

Congratulations to all WORS winners. If you were unable to attend the ceremony and have an award due you, please consult the ?Awards? section of the WORS Guidelines for instructions on how to claim your award.

The Evening?s excitement continued as WORS drew for the winners of its overall raffle. This raffle allows all WORS overall finishers a chance at winning many of the same great prizes from our sponsors that the Eite overall champs receive for their efforts. And the lucky WORS racers are:
