She kindly agreed to try the new WORS GoPro Hero Cam during her Super D. We mounted the camera to the front of her helmet. Her total run was around 9 minutes, edited here to just under 2. Enjoy!

    Subaru Cup Categories

Please review the recently updated WORS Photo Contest rules, and submit photos to TeamWORS at gmail dot com.

Categories ($10 WORS Bucks for Best Photo in each category)

    1. Best Venue Photo. For tips on this category, see this page. A particular challenge of the Rhinelander venue is the long, narrow start area and the pines that separate it from the awards podium.
    2. Best Photo of Racer(s) and Sponsor Banners. For tips on this category, see the Team WORS website. Team WORS plans to install banners within walking distance of the start. Directions to these banners will be available at the Registration Tent after 4:00 on Saturday.
    3. Best Candid Moment. This could be a photograph of a racer, from the kids race, the podium, or spectators.
    4. Best Photo of Dad at the Kid's Race. Hey, it's father's day weekend. Call your dad.
    5. Best Photo of a Pro / Cat 1 Women?s leader. Sorry ladies, but we've got to keep VeloNews posted. Although our leading men have a dedicated paparazzi, the ladies in the lead have proven elusive for WORS photographers this season. Only a few photos of the speeding Kim Eppen have been taken, and photographic proof of a strong Minnesota showing at the Big Ring Classic was sparse. WORS draws nationally ranked women from around the Midwest, especially to the Subaru Cup. Catch them on film for the win ? unless, of course, they ride by too fast.
    6. Best Photo from the Short Track Race on Sunday. Bonus points to those who capture our Cat 2 and 3 riders.
    7. Best Photo from the Super D on Sunday. Bonus points to those who capture our Cat 2 and 3 riders.
$25 WORS Bucks for the Overall Best Photo. This can be an image submitted to any of the Categories below, or may not apply to any of the specific categories for this race ? just a great image!

    Wisconsin mountain biking rocks!

    Editor,

RE: coverage of the WORS series.

Hello, as an avid cyclist here in the Midwest, as well as an appreciative subscriber to VeloNews, I was very pleased to read your coverage of the WORS mountain bike series.

I have ridden and raced around the country, and Don Edberg and his dedicated crew run as good a series as you will find in terms of organization, course variety and difficulty, fan accessibility and community involvement.

It is the largest registered racer series in the U.S., highly competitive (The top pros travel to Europe and routinely beat some of America's best at Chequamegon and The Iceman Cometh) while still remaining accessible and friendly. We are lucky to have it, and I look forward to your continued coverage of the deserving people who volunteer and compete for WORS.

    David Compton, Wisconsin

Editor's Note: Thanks, David, and to the other Wisconsin riders who have written. I haven't been to a WORS event yet, but I appreciate that the organizers help us gather results and other information on a timely basis so we can report on the events here (Hint, hint, other offroad race organizers).

    WORS Race coverage in VeloNews

    http://velonews.com/article/93065/battle-royale-in-the-wisconsin-offroad-series

Team WORS sends a report and selected photographs to the editors at VeloNews after each race. VeloNews covers the biggest names and events in all of cycling, from the Tour de France to Track and Cyclocross. We at Team WORS are, of course, delighted to see the outstanding competitors in our series get this recognition for their achievements and effort, and appreciate the time they each take to answer requests for comments and perspectives.

The fine people at VeloNews are busy and often pressed for time by breaking stories. Sometimes, WORS reports are not prioritized or are unpublished. Because Team WORS has heard many requests for continued VeloNews coverage at WORS events this year, we understand that this is of interest to some of you who race and spectate at WORS. If you enjoy and value seeing WORS coverage continue in VeloNews, please consider taking a moment to let them know. I think they would appreciate the positive response.
