We are racing in 2021 on Saturday August 21! We will follow a delayed but otherwise standard schedule.  Pre -ride and on site registration will be available Friday at 4:30 pm till dusk for the ride and till and 7 pm for registation.  Cash or Check please!  We will be set up and ready for that onsite registration!

We are racing again and the format and experience will feel more like 2019 than 2020 thank goodness.  We appreciate those of you that came out for our 2020 event and we look forward to hosting in 2021.  Some things are happening at the reforestation camp.  Camp ground construction will be underway.  The traditional trail head has been changed to the ski trail start and lodge.  We will have a 0.8 mile wide lead out before we dive into the single track.  The lap will be 5.5 miles and be about 60% single track and lots of punchy ups and downs there.  Expect sand and roots.  The base is pretty fast draining and things are pretty dry as of Thursday so we are hoping for a bit of rain.

Course Description

RACING

The course will ride opposite the new normal direction in places and course marking crew will have the course open For a Friday afternoon pre-ride at 4:30 pm for your racing pleasure!  Pre ride is entirely on your own risk.  You will want to look at the start roll out to 2 track to single track transition pre- race.  You can pre ride Saturday morning as well.  Be on the course by 10 am and off the course by 10:30.

Brown County requires a trail pass to race for those over 12. A single day pass covers it! Show us a pass and we'll give you a ticket for beer and coffee!  The county may check riders, there is now a credit card/cash kiosk at the trailhead.  The pass supports the trails. The County has been a pretty solid partner in trail work and community interface.  Bring exact change ($5), buy a pass online on day of race at the Brown County Parks site or use the kiosk.  Parking is first come first serve.  We will ask you to be compact so please cooperate.  Overflow parking is down the hill by the zoo entrance.

Because we are racing Saturday there will be no learn to ride clinic.

Amenities & Additional Information

Riding at the camp is fast and exhilarating, the course uses a both the flowy single track and frequently interspersed two track where you have to put the hammer down and you can pass.  Expect to ride on hard dirt, roots, ride some sand with a visit to a bog or two.  The course is a great mix of the Camp’s 1550 acres of trails and woods.

CONVENIENCES

To lower the risk of COVID-19 spread, we will have limited conveniences.  We will have no indoor spaces available. We'll have a 10 Porta Jons, multiple hand sanitizing stations and access to the Lodge hose. Food will be available for sale. The Park is carry in carry out for any trash, so bring a garbage bag and pack up your waste!

We will have course marshals every couple of miles but no water stops/cup hand ups.  You can set up canopies/tents in the woods along the lap road, close to the start area.

So please bring your own water, drinks and food. Stay safe even when you aren't required to mask using distance and masking. By race time local rules may change and we will keep our facebook event/page up to date as best we can.

No Dogs (pets) Allowed. Proximity to the NEW Zoo prohibits pets.
