The ninth race in the Wisconsin Off Road Series took place in Suamico. The venue consisted of a lot of sandy terrain with plenty of room for passing. It was a day filled with a lot of sunshine, making it perfect for a dry race. The dust made eyewear a must.
The Wisconsin Off-Road Series made its eighth stop of the season on the Western slope of Wisconsin in the beautiful bluffs of La Crosse last Sunday. The Hixon Forest Epic winds up and down the bluffs with beautiful views through fast singletrack. Early morning rain brought on a hot and beautiful day for the third annual Hixon Forest Epic. Each race is becoming more and more crucial for series riders as the competition heats up for the series overall and last weekend was no different.
The Wisconsin Off-Road Series kicked off the second half of the season with USA Cycling’s Midwest Regional MTB Championships, WORS Cup at Alpine Valley Ski Resort in Elkhorn, WI. This is the second year WORS has used Alpine Valley for a race venue as it’s southern location brings in racers from all over the midwest. After a quick turnaround from the Wisconsin Off Road Series Race #4, the Mt.Morris Challenge, racers and families had just six days to recover before heading off to the fifth race of the season, The Red Flint Firecracker in Eau Claire, WI. The Red Flint Firecracker is a course that favors the strong and powerful. With little climbing, racers power through the open sections before tearing it up in the singletrack to offer an entertaining weekend for all.
Mt. Morris- Last Sunday the Wisconsin Off-Road Series made its fourth stop of the season at Mt. Morris for the Mt. Morris Challenge. Capital Off-Road Pathfinders(CORPS), Loft and Shove, and Team WORS all banded together to design a fun and family friendly weekend for all. Food trucks, bouncy houses, and of course a hilly and technical race course made this year’s Battle of Camrock the best to date! The BelGioioso Pro/Cat 1 men’s race had racers out of the saddle early for an extensive climb to the top of CamRock Park where the men then funneled into the first section of singletrack.
Fall River, Wi- Last weekend the Wisconsin Off Road Series (WORS) made its second stop of the season at Englewood Grass Farms for the Englewood Open race in Fall River, WI.
