In 2012 alone, the Wisconsin Off Road Series hosted nearly 2700 junior entrants. Over 1700 competitors 17-and-under raced WORS singletrack events 30-minutes and longer, ranging from the beginner level to Cat 1 Elite.
WORS Women are a group of women who enjoy the sport of mountain biking in the upper midwest. Our goal is to encourage more women to share our sport. Some of us are racers, some of us just ride for fun and many of us are beginners just learning the sport. We want you to come ride with us!Those are the opening lines of our mission statement, penned over 3 years ago and still the best description of WORS Women. We want women at all levels of skill, fitness and experience to come out and ride with us.
Two junior WORS racers got some great press today for their racing success in Wisconsin and beyond. The Shull sisters are rocking it for EXPO Juniors this year, and this great article gives some insight into what it's like to be young, ladylike, and fast on the trails.
But biking rarely interferes with friends because they see most of them at races.
"I love going there," Liz said. "I'm not ever thinking I wish I was going to a party in Libertyville. There is always a party up there."
MILWAUKEE, WI – JUNE 30, 2010 – Riders from EXPO Racing’s junior mountain bike team have once again qualified to attend the USA Cycling Mountain Bike National Championships in Granby, Colorado, July 15th – 18th. Twelve team members, ages 10 to 18 are making the trip, hoping to earn a spot on the national podium.
