Introducing the WORS Cascade XC for Kids

The inaugural WORS Cascade XC for Kids on September 28th and 29th marks what is anticipated to be a long and mutually beneficial relationship between the mountain bike riders of the Midwest and one of Wisconsin’s premier ski area, Cascade Mountain. A first for WORS in many ways, the Cascade XC for Kids is a fundraiser in support of the recently established WIN (WORS Interscholastic) Cycling, a not for profit organization devoted to the mission of the establishment of school-based mountain bike clubs in communities throughout Wisconsin.

Free "Bike Stuff Exchange" at Iola Bump & Jump

Bring it! At the Season Finale of WORS 2011 in Sheboygan, WORS Women hosted a free bike stuff exchange. We thought the event was a success, with a many happy donations and appreciated finds. We'll be doing it again at Iola! We've got a winter's worth of new (gently used) gear to bring - including awesome Bontrager, Craft and Patagonia apparel, helmets, shoes, and more.

2012 WORS Guidelines and Rules: up for review and comment

The proposed 2012 WORS Guidelines and Rules are the result of discussions and review by staff and WORS race directors - along with input from racers. Changes from 2011 are highlighted in yellow. We are proposing several class and category changes, some minimum age requirement and, unfortunately, a small increase in fees to cover the rising costs of maintaining the event quality and rider experience we want for WORS. We strive to have guidelines and rules that will keep WORS a strong and growing series. Over the next month, the 2012 guidelines and rules will be finalized.

WORS Women "Ladies-be-good" bike-stuff exchange at Sheboygan

Bring it!

WORS Women are a group of women who enjoy the sport of mountain biking in the upper midwest. Our goal is to encourage more women to share our sport. Some of us are racers, some of us just ride for fun and many of us are beginners just learning the sport.  We want you to come ride with us!
Those are the opening lines of our mission statement, penned over 3 years ago and still the best description of WORS Women. We want women at all levels of skill, fitness and experience to come out and ride with us.

Reforestation Ramble Movie and More

Two junior WORS racers got some great press today for their racing success in Wisconsin and beyond. The Shull sisters are rocking it for EXPO Juniors this year, and this great article gives some insight into what it's like to be young, ladylike, and fast on the trails.

But biking rarely interferes with friends because they see most of them at races.

"I love going there," Liz said. "I'm not ever thinking I wish I was going to a party in Libertyville. There is always a party up there."
